Tuscan Skillet & Shredded Salad Supreme

TUSCAN SKILLET

Ingredients:

  • 1 package Nature’s Promise Mild Italian  Organic Chicken Sausage
  • 1 medium green pepper
  • 1 medium red pepper
  • 1/2 medium yellow pepper (The other 1/2 will be used in the salad.)
  • 1 medium onion
  • Nature’s Promise Organic Olive OIl Spray
  • a medium piece of Parmesan for shaving
  • Print sausage-and-pepper-ingredients

Instructions:

  •  Grill the sausage on the BBQ, turning frequently until fully cooked, and place aside. I like to grill over Cowboy wood charcoal, and then I cover briefly for 1-2 minutes for a smoked flavor.)
  • Chop all peppers & onion into strips, (placing 1/2 of the yellow pepper aside.)
  • Spray a skillet with olive oil spray
  • Saute’ the pepper & onion strips on a low temperature for 7 minutes, mixing frequently.
  • Add the grilled sausage to the skillet & let simmer on a low temperature for 5 minutes along with the peppers & onion.
  • Serve warm along with the Shredded Salad Supreme.

SHREDDED SALAD SUPREME

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 head of cabbage, shredded, (Or, for more color, a 1/4 green cabbage, 1/4 red cabbage.) (Nature’s Promise & other brands have pre-shredded cabbage in the produce aisle of most grocery stores. The cole slaw mix would be fine as well.)
  • 1 cucumber shredded with ‘The Veggetti,’ (Place on paper towel and squeeze to remove excess water.)
  • 1/2 diced yellow pepper
  • Cardini’s Light Caesar Vinaigrette Dressing
  • a medium piece of Parmesan for shaving

Instructions:

  • Toss the shredded cabbage & cucumber in a large salad bowl
  • Drizzle 3 tbsp Cardini’s Light Caesar Vinaigrette Dressing over the shredded cabbage & cucumber.
  • Top with a few shavings of Parmesan
  • Chill for 10 minutes & serve.

This delicacy has an equally delicious aroma and flavor, and for anyone of Italian or Sicilian heritage, it’s just as natural at a BBQ as hamburgers for the ‘red blooded’ American.
